The brewery of the Sint-Sixtus Abbey aims to provide financing for the operation of the abbey and of its social works.
The Trappist Westvleteren is brewed by the monks of the Sint-Sixtus Abbey Five natural raw materials are used to brew three Trappist beers: Blond, 8 and 12. They each have their own colour, flavour and aroma. All beers are unfiltered and not pasteurized, with refermentation on the bottle. All this will benefit their taste and aroma.
The Trappist Westvleteren is brewed and bottled within the abbey and is only offered for sale on site. Wooden bins of 24 bottles in the abbey itself and a small pack of 6 vials in the meeting center “In the Peace”.
The Trappist Westvleteren complies with the strict regulations of the International Trappist Association, and therefore also bears the logo “Authentic Trappist Product”.
